Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber Celebrates Landmark 140th Annual General Meeting with Dwight Duncan, Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority

The Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce is holding their 140th Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the Caboto Club, located at 2175 Parent Ave.

To help celebrate the WERCC’s 140th year is featured guest speaker Dwight Duncan, Interim Chair of the Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority (WDBA), a not-for-profit Canadian Crown corporation responsible for the delivery of the Gordie Howe International Bridge project. Duncan will be speaking on the Gordie Howe Bridge, the border, and next steps.

Duncan also serves as a Senior Strategic Advisor at McMillan LLP, one of Canada’s largest and most respected full service law firms. At McMillan, Duncan is, or has been engaged, by some of Canada’s largest and most influential pension funds, private equity firms, insurers and gaming companies.

Duncan currently serves on the Board of Travelers Insurance Canada, The Dominion General Insurance Company, Crown Crest Trust, The Global Risk Institute, the MS Society of Canada Scientific Research Foundation, and the Management Advisory Board of the Odette School of Business at the University of Windsor.

Prior to joining McMillan, Duncan had a distinguished career in public service that spanned close to 25 years. During his time as a Member of the Ontario Legislature he served as Deputy Premier, Minister of Finance, Chair of the Management Board of Cabinet, Chair of Cabinet, Government House Leader, Minister of Energy, Minister of Revenue, Minister of Government Services and Opposition House Leader.

Duncan has received a number of awards and distinctions including a honourary doctorate from the University of Windsor (2013) and recognition as one of Toronto’s 50 Most Influential People by Toronto Life Magazine (2012).

This year’s Annual General Meeting will include:

*Report of the Past Chair of the Board – Dr. Janice Forsyth
*Approval of Auditor’s Report for fiscal period ending June 30, 2016
*Appointment of Auditors for 2016-2017 fiscal year
