I just wanted to thank everyone for attending my first Online Interactive Town Hall! I had a great time presenting what we at the Chamber have accomplished over the past year since I have been President & CEO. I also received some great questions and feedback and am confident to say that there will be many more Online Interactive Town Halls in the future!

Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce President & CEO to Host First Ever Online Interactive Town Hall for Members

To commemorate my first year as President & CEO of the Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce, I will be hosting an online interactive town hall with Chamber members on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., where I will outline last year’s activities and discuss plans for the future of the Chamber. A Question and Answer session with members will follow.

This past year has seen the Chamber rise to new visibility and advocate on behalf of its members more than ever before. This advocacy was recognized by the Ontario Chamber as the Windsor-Essex Chamber was awarded its first ever Advocacy Award for its work in 2012.

Some of these issues include Proposition 6 (New International Trade Crossings), Single Sports Betting, Immigrant Investor Project, Food Packaging Regulations, reopening a U.S. Consulate in Windsor, Ballast Water Regulations, simplifying access to Federal R&D Program, leading the business community in new hospital discussions, among others. The Chamber also put on the region’s first ever Technology Show and Forum, featuring the first look at the Blackberry Z10. A second Technology event is planned for October.

This is the first time in Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce history that the President & CEO has presented directly to members in an online setting and is also the first time the President & CEO has been available for questions from the membership.

Also for the first time ever, the Chamber is releasing a series of policy papers in key chamber member areas including Transportation, Environment and Energy, and Finance and Taxation. The Transportation paper was released in February to wide acclaim and can be viewed by clicking here.

The online interactive town hall will take place online at AnyMeeting.com. Members will able to login online to listen or phone in to listen to the presentation. To register, email Lindsey Rivait, Communications Coordinator, at lrivait@windsorchamber.org.
