Canadian Parliament panel to kick off steel dumping study

NEW YORK — A Canadian parliamentary trade committee will hold its first meeting Nov. 3 in a formal study of the dumping of foreign steel and other threats to the country’s domestic industry.
The House of Commons’ Standing Committee on International Trade plans at least four meetings in the probe, entitled “The Canadian Steel Industry’s Ability to Compete Internationally.” The opening session, scheduled for 11:15 a.m. in Ottawa, will feature testimony from federal industry, finance and trade officials.
